We work with some fantastic people...which of course makes our job that much easier and wonderful! Recently we stopped by one of our favourite West Vancouver destinations Blush Bridal and thought we would share.....
Blush Bridal

Owner and consultant Lorna Paterson opened Blush Bridal and Cocktail Wear back in 2006. She was inspired by frustration after she went with a friend to buy a mother-of-the-bride gown, and couldn’t find anything beautiful and appropriate.
Fast forward 4 years... and Blush is one of the most successful bridal shops on the North Shore. It’s not hard to see why! Blush has a gorgeous inventory of dresses, both for brides and their bridesmaids. And, most of the designer dresses are exclusive to Blush, meaning you won’t be able to find them anywhere else in town!
The dresses come in a large selection of price points, from $700 to $6000, with the average gown being around the $3500 range.
If you want to shop for your bridal gown at Blush, Lorna has some great tips. First, be sure to call them to make an appointment, they have 3 fabulous consultants: Brittany, Ashley, and Lorna herself (They have a fabulous seamstress, who is also the seamstress for the Vancouver Opera!) Lorna suggests coming to your appointment with a close friend or your mom, rather than with your whole bridal party, and warns that too many conflicting opinions could lead to confusion!
Next, have a price point in mind. Then, have a color and a material in mind. The consultants will help you determine how formal the dress should be, choose the most flattering dress for your body, and help you choose the best accessories.
Blush has gorgeous dresses to suit every bride, from the classic and traditional, to the most fashion forward (they have a fabulous Vera Wang gown that actually has a jewelled black snakeskin sash!) They have dresses for the gorgeous plus-sized bride, and even have beautiful maternity bridal gowns!
According to Lorna, here are some trends this upcoming year: There is a return to the classic ballgown, rather than previously popular A-line or mermaid dresses. Strapless remains universally flattering and popular. Also, a lot of brides are opting for sweet and shorter bridal dresses, often for garden weddings or for the reception, dresses which are always paired with fun, flirty and flashy shoes!
Whatever you are looking for, Blush will likely have an exclusive dress for you. Lorna travels around and hand picks all of her inventory, based on what girls have been asking for. We know, we know, it’s a hard job, but someone has to do it!! ;)
