We are uber excited to announce the return of the fabulous Granville Island Florist! Suzane Lee has been one of our proud supporters since the conception of our show in 2004 and each year she blows us away with wonderful creations! We recently asked her for some tips to find the perfect florist!
"For any couple trying to start putting a theme or a look for their wedding, and love to see something very special of their own, the best way is to hire a professional florist and a good one who could guide them to that place, and there are a few steps that a couple could do to start searching.."
After the initial excitement of the proposal , the making of the wedding is underway (flowers, decor, linens, you name it!) this is what I suggest:
1. To have a vision of the mood, and colour and the style of flowers as a start .... sort out your favourites, give your florist the " DO NOT give me that flower list " and prepare information of your bridal party, venue, and level of budget. this way your florist could go right to work for you and start coming up with ideas to make your vision come true. she or he should inform you the availability of any seasonal flowers as well as imports, depends on the overall look and colours and most importantly the " venue " the flowers and decor should compliment and work well with it .
2. Once you have found a reputable florist and one whom you feel comfortable in working with, don't hesitate to tell them everything about your dream wedding, go all out and choose accordingly to what's more important to you if a budget needs to be considered. A good florist should be able to suggest many different ideas and ways to make your vision come alive!
3. Always ask to look at the actual flowers to prevent unpleasant surprises on your wedding day, from bridal party flowers to ceremony decor to tablecentre pieces, by hiring a wedding planner is a great way to lesson the stress and fear of doing it by yourself, so you can enjoy the process of " making of a fabulous wedding " ---- stress free and full of fun !!!!
4. Look for decor people and flower people who works well together, it's already a guaranteed for a successful wedding!
There were your top four sneak peaks on working with fabulous florists! You'll have a chance to see some of Suzane Lee's creations at our upcoming show in November- Can't Wait <3
